Background

In 1959, a group of Thai businessmen from the Sarasin, Kiangsiri and Boonsoong families formally set up Thai Pure Drinks Limited; as so known as “thai-nam-thip-jum-kad” in Thailand as a bottler of Coca-Cola products in Thailand, in cooperation with The Coca-Cola Export Corporation of the USA.

Under the leadership of His Excellency Mr. Pote Sarasin in the early years, the company grew rapidly. Coca-Cola products dominated the soft drink market and its success spurred the introduction of other popular trademarks such as Coke, Fanta and Sprite.

With such success, the company expanded rapidly with new plants being built all over Thailand; Khonkaen Plant in 1967, Huamark Plant in 1969, Lampang Plant in 1977, Prathumthani Plant in 1981, Rangsit in 1996 and Korat Plant in 1997. The combined output of all these plants enabled the company to efficiently meet the growing demand across Thailand.  Currently, ThaiNamthip employs more than 7,800 people.

From the beginning in 1959, the company has been simultaneously using both the Thai name; ThaiNamthip; and English name; Thai Pure Drinks. On July 16th, 2007, the company officially changed its English name from “Thai Pure Drinks Limited” to “ThaiNamthip Limited”
